First-Draft of Another Story About Boston
1.
Classic Rock/// Hard Rock era/// Begins in 1967/// w/ Jimi Hendrix/// Are You Experienced/// goes to/// 1980/// John Bonham dies/// In Through the Out Door/// Led Zeppelin/// It didn't start or end specifically because of these events but it's not a coincidence
In 1967/// Amplifiers got really good/// Marshall released the stack/// Without the BIG Amplifier Jimi Hendrix isn't able to create waves of warm deep tones that connected the listener in a more profound way because the sound itself was more profound/// Guitar tones equaled a way of feeling human/// The Experience of Being Alive in a tone/// The Art got human/// The form got a human temperature/// And radio and product got Missionary and that tone became a religion/// and then.../// It took ten years for them to figure out that/// Hey!: "We should buy this industry/// and milk it...."/// It's Framptons fault/// Frampton Comes Alive/// Woke up the artless money/// That's what opened up a slot for independent labels to deliver Punk (Off radar) that's the only way that was going to happen
And there was a second birth of a new blues and a new wave and a new tone
Punk to Post-Punk/// 1977/// Sex Pistols/// Ramones until Kurt died... Once again it took Them ten to thirteen years to decide to buy an industry and milk it/// Nevermind/// Re-packaged (Light)
I grew up through Classic Rock and I fit in to being a version of a Punk (The Clash, The Damned, Dead Kennedy's, Black Flag, UK Subs, Fear...)/// College Rocker (R. E. M., Replacements, Fugazi, Sonic Youth...Husker Du.) and a Classic Rocker (Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Zeppelin, Aerosmith etc...)
Today:
I'm making a Classic Rock/// Hard Rock era Mix Tape...
2.
During a long drug phase I was not kind to my CD's/// My Classic Rock/// Hard Rock era music suffered the most because that's what I listened to the most/// That's where I was
So, discs from that period/// From that genre need to be physically washed under running water/// Rubbing fifteen year old soda spills , wine, rezzin, pizza sauce...off
I snapped a few in half stepping on 'em/// Lost
Jethro Tull's Aqualung///
Alice Cooper/ Killers/// and
Cream/ Fresh Cream///
I kept the six halves up until my last BIG Clean/// I have mixed feelings...
The bands that were hit the hardest/// Getting dirty/// Won't play/// Caked Skippers
are...
The Doors
Pink Floyd
Led Zeppelin
Jimi Hendrix
The Who
Rod Stewart
David Bowie
Black Sabbath
KISS
Deep Purple
and
Queen
Got ready to make my mix tape...

Disc 2/// Jimi Hendrix/ Electric Ladyland
Had a gash and could not be saved
I downloaded 4 of 9 songs from:
Electric Ladyland/ Disc 1
Tracks 2 and 3
Have You Ever Been (To Electric Ladyland/// and Crosstown Traffic
Track 5. Little Miss Strange/// Track 8. Gypsy Eyes
I downloaded some of The Who
For ME/// Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970
During the white coveralls and the red Gibson SG Who is top tear shit///
They were on fire
Pete's work during that period/// The Woodstock show/// Holy/// His tone touches ME the deepest/// Then Neil Young 1970/// Then Ron Asheton 1967-68
On The Isle of Wight they do Tommy in it's entirety/// Amazing!
